Episodes

  • 107 Aunt the Waterfront

    12/10/2019 Duration: 26min

I was lucky enough to catch my Aunt Linda while she was in town for the LeBaron family reunion! I hauled my studio out to my dad's house in Polo, IL and got a chance to catch up and talk about her interesting life (like growing up in Italy??). We're joined by her twin girls, Megan and Mary and my paternal unit (and Polo Methodist Pastor), Brian LeBaron as we discuss the importance of a supporting each as a family, as well as reminisce about those no longer with us. Linda takes us through her extensive traveling as a child and talks about the origin idea to have Grandpa LeBaron make a record of some of his stories (heard in their entirety in the previous two episodes). • 106 Grandpa LeBaron and the Readers of the Lost Doc - Part 2

    13/09/2019 Duration: 39min

In this episode, we conclude the recording of my Grandpa, Keith LeBaron's document "A Father's Legacy," originally typed up with his daughter (my Aunt) Linda in mind. With this half, Grandpa gets into heavier details about his life, including his deteriorating relationship near the end of his marriage to Linda's mother, Marge, as well as his fondest memories about his family growing up. Look forward to hearing Aunt Linda talk about this, when I interview her on the next episode of Hero Worship!! • 105 Grandpa LeBaron and the Readers of the Lost Doc - Part 1

    24/07/2019 Duration: 41min

In this episode, my sister, Mel and I together read a questionnaire that my Aunt Linda sent to my Grandpa Keith LeBaron a long time ago. Mel voices Linda's questions and I voice my Grandpa. In it, my Grandpa lays out his family's challenges making it work in the Great Depression, talks about his love of the railroad, shares some ideas on his Christian faith, and gets into some everyday wisdom. A big thanks to my Aunt Linda LeBaron for writing out this thoughtful questionnaire in the first place. This week, my brother, Scott, returns to tell me about his trials facing bullies and other adversities as a semi-only-child in Freeport. I'm joined once again by my brother, Kevin as we discuss proper autistic terminology, divorce, parenting Scott, the joys of Saturday Morning Cartoons, breaking into musical theatre at Beloit Memorial High School, and a whole lot of Transformers (and there will be a quiz)! We talk about all that and how important it is to let your freak flag fly! • 103 Mad Mel - Fury Road

    27/02/2019 Duration: 01h20min

Over the weekend, I had the chance to interview one of my biggest personal heroes, Mel LeBaron, my sister, and I was joined by my brothers Kevin LeBaron & Ben Colby as well as the person that we all owe our very existence to, our loving matriarch, Pamela Siemens Voegeli. Join us as we talk about Mel's action packed adventures and her brazenly positive outlook on life as she beats every challenge that comes her way. And to top it off, we discuss one of Mel's favorite things: the cinema, as we make our best guesses for Oscar predictions (with only Mel as our guide).
